> INTENSIVE DRIVING COURSE

Our driver training courses are aimed at preparing you for the practical driving test and encouraging safe driving for life. All our courses are tailored to suit the individual needs. From the complete beginner to those who need a boost to pass the test.

You can start a course on any day of the week. Courses generally start between 8.30 and 9.30 and are made up of 5/6 hours flexible training a day with an hour break for lunch.

What is an intensive driving course?
Standard lessons are typically 1 hour a week on average. As such you take a fair amount of time getting back into last week's lesson, so that by the time you are feeling confident again the lesson is nearly over.

With intensive training there is no one hour and no stop and starting each week. Intensive courses are becoming more popular as the high cost of learning to drive and insurance costs are hitting 17-18 year olds. People realise the need for a driving licence for work and as they get a bit older do not want to spread the learning over several months.

The course length will depend on the amount of previous driving experience.

The Theory Test
You must have passed your theory test before you can take your practical test. If you require any advise please telephone us.

Your Driving Test
Most learners want to take their practical driving test at the end of training. We will arrange this for you if you wish. 2 hours will be left for the test appointment at the end of your training.

Option 2 20 Hours	20 hours driving spread over 4 days. For pupils who have had around 15 hours tuition but not yet taken a test.	£390.00	£75.00
Option 3 25 Hours	25 hours spread over 5 days. Suitable for those pupils with driving experience and have basic knowledge of controls.	£475.00	£100.00
Option 4 30 Hours	30 hours spread over 6 days. For beginners with little or no experience.	£560.00	£100.00
Option 5 35 Hours	35 hours spread over 7 days. For complete beginners with little or no experience who feel they need that extra mile.	£648.00	£100.00

> TOWING / TRAILER TRAINING

Meridian Driving Centre can now offer Training for the B+E Trailer Towing Test. We can also offer caravan manoeuvring and trailer handling courses.

The law has changed concerning towing trailers and drivers who passed a car test on or after 1 January 1997 are now required to pass an additional driving test in order to tow large trailers and gain entitlement to category B+E and all larger vehicles. All drivers who passed a car test before 1 January 1997 retain their existing entitlement to tow trailers until their licence expires.
