The Part 3 - THE ABILITY TO TEACH - (role play teaching)
All training for Part 3 is 'in car', although from time to time, you will be invited to a Masterclass group training session or consultation evening (there is no charge for group events).
With Part 3 training sessions being of an intense nature, it is essential that trainees can retain the information given, therefore trainees will be required to bring a blank cassette tape to the session, so that the session can be tape recorded, so as to act as living memory of what happened.


Training at this stage is normally conducted in a 90 minute format, 1 hour tends to be too short, yet 2 hours appears to be too long, experience has shown that the best learning period is 90 minutes.


We will supply a training pack prior to the commencement of the Part 3 training course, this will include colour teaching diagrams, lesson plans, teaching handouts and pre-set test information sheets. The DSA test fee for the Part 3 test is £82.00 per attempt.


The list of Part 3 teaching modules:
Introduction Phase:
1)  Introduction to marking system, basic fault finding techniques
2)  Positive instruction, identify/analysis/remedy structure (core competencies)
3)  Level of instruction, positive correction, question and answer technique
4)  Starting a lesson, the cockpit drill, questions aimed at previous knowledge/experience
Development Phase:
1)  Controls, cockpit drill, demonstration drive, leaving and entering the vehicle
2)  Moving away/normal stops, use of mirrors, blind spots, demonstration drive
3)  Turn in the road
4)  Reverse right/left
5)  Emergency stop/use of signals
6)  Pedestrian crossings/use of signals
7)  Approaching right/left
8)  Emerging
9)  Crossroads
10)  Meet/cross/overtaking/clearance with anticipation
11)  Introduction to phase 2, progress/hesitation/general road position
12)  Reverse parking/bay parking
13)  Rolling through phase 2 subjects, positive correction techniques
14)  Question and answer technique, dealing with a qualified driver (new DSA pre-set test)
Evaluation Phase:
1)  Controls/Crossroads
2)  Moving off, normal stops/meeting,cross,overtaking,clearance,anticipation
3)  Turn in the road/left and right turns
4)  Reverse left/right/emerging
5)  Emergency stop,mirrors/progress,hesitation,road position/qualified driver
6)  Pedestrian crossings,use of signals/reverse parking
7)  Left/right turns/pedestrian crossings
8)  Emerging/meeting,crossing etc
9)  Crossroads/pedestrian crossings
10)  Meet,cross etc/progress, hesitancy,general position/qualified driver
11)  Mock test/Assessment
A 90 minute training session for Part 3 costs £45.00 or £30.00 for a standard 60 minute session.


Extra training is available at normal hourly rates.


It is not the establishment's policy to encourage irresponsible training, we are not in the business of selling dreams, with glossy brochures and promises of unrealistic claims of potential earnings, or unrealistic promises of "how long will it take to qualify". What we do offer is a proven and high standards, of 'one to one' training to ADI grade 5/6 standards.
