THE EXAM PROCESS
In order to become an ADI there are 3 qualifying examinations :
Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3, that are conducted by the DSA
examiner. |
|
| THE ADI THEORY TEST
(PART 1) |
| |
 |
What's required ...
This test consists of 100 multiple choice questions followed by 14 hazard
perception video clips all done on a touch-screen computer. It is a similar
format to the learner theory test, but you are asked more questions and of
course the pass marks required are higher. The test may be taken at any DSA
theory test centre and there is one in every major town or city. |
|
 |
What we offer ...
ADITA will supply all books and offer serious classroom sessions which will
cover four different modules. |
|
| THE TEST OF DRIVING
ABILITY (PART 2) |
| |
 |
What's required ...
This test is basically an advanced driving test where you must show a high
standard of driving. It lasts for about an hour and may be taken at a DSA
regional driving test centre. |
|
 |
What we offer ...
Part 2 begins after you have completed the first two modules of Part 1. The
Part 2 training will be one-to-one in car training based on the practical side
of driving. The training is designed to bring your driving skills up to the
high standard required to teach people to drive. Part 2 could take anything
from 12 hours upwards but depends mainly on the abilities of the trainee. All
courses and training is set at the learning pace of the trainee. |
|
| THE TEST OF INSTRUCTOR
ABILITY (PART 3) |
| |
 |
What's required ...
The object of this test is to asses the quality of your instruction and your
ability to pass your knowledge on to pupils. This is done using role-play, the
examiner taking on the role of a learner driver. There are pre-set tests that
the examiner can choose from. The test last for approximately an hour and may
be taken at any regional driving test centre. |
|
 |
What we offer ...
Part 3 begins once the trainee has completed and passed Parts 1 & 2. Part 3
consists of classroom sessions on how to present briefings and driving lessons.
ADITA will supply all notes and sheets on briefings. After the classroom
sessions trainees will begin one-to-one in car training with a personal trainer
to develop skills in fault analysis. A minimum of 40 hours on-to-one training
is required. |
